Description The issue is related to a use-after-free vulnerability in the processing of Format event actions, which could result in arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user. Exploitation of this issue requires user interaction, where a victim must open a malicious file, specifically a specially crafted PDF file. This vulnerability allows attackers to execute arbitrary code.

For Adobe Acrobat Reader DC version 20.004.30017 and earlier, update to a version later than 20.004.30017. For Adobe Acrobat Reader DC version 17.011.30204 and earlier, update to a version later than 17.011.30204. For Adobe Acrobat 2017, Adobe Acrobat Reader 2017, Adobe Acrobat 2020, and Adobe Acrobat Reader 2020, at the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability. As a temporary workaround, consider avoiding the use of the affected software to open untrusted PDF files until a patch is available.
