Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
D-Link DIR-823-Pro version 1.0.2
Description
The issue is related to a command injection vulnerability in the
ChgSambaUserSettings() function. This vulnerability allows attackers to execute arbitrary commands via the samba name parameter. The vulnerability is due to insufficient input validation when processing the samba name parameter, which can be exploited by a remote attacker to execute arbitrary commands.Recommendations
For D-Link DIR-823-Pro version 1.0.2, consider disabling the
ChgSambaUserSettings() function until a patch is available. Restrict access to the samba name parameter to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.Exploit
