Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
D-Link DIR-823-Pro version 1.0.2
Description
The issue is related to a command injection vulnerability in the
SetNetworkTomographySettings function. This vulnerability allows attackers to execute arbitrary commands via the tomography ping address, tomography ping number, tomography ping size, tomography ping timeout, and tomography ping ttl parameters. The vulnerability is caused by insufficient input validation when processing these parameters.Recommendations
For D-Link DIR-823-Pro version 1.0.2, as a temporary workaround, consider disabling the
SetNetworkTomographySettings function until a patch is available. Restrict access to the parameters tomography ping address, tomography ping number, tomography ping size, tomography ping timeout, and tomography ping ttl to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.Command Injection
