VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Sante DICOM Viewer Pro version 11.8.7.0
Description This issue allows remote attackers to disclose sensitive information on affected installations. User interaction is required, where the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The flaw exists within the parsing of DCM files, where crafted data can trigger a read past the end of an allocated buffer. An attacker can leverage this, in conjunction with other issues, to execute arbitrary code in the context of the current process.
Recommendations For Sante DICOM Viewer Pro version 11.8.7.0, consider disabling the DCM file parsing functionality until a patch is available to prevent exploitation. Restrict access to crafted DCM files to minimize the risk of sensitive information disclosure. Avoid using Sante DICOM Viewer Pro to open files from untrusted sources until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.
