VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Gerbv versions 2.7.0 through 2.8.0
Description The issue is related to an out-of-bounds read vulnerability in the RS-274X aperture macro multiple outline primitives functionality. This can be exploited by sending a specially crafted Gerber file, potentially leading to information disclosure. An attacker can trigger this vulnerability by providing a malicious file.
Recommendations For Gerbv versions 2.7.0 through 2.8.0, consider avoiding the use of the RS-274X aperture macro multiple outline primitives functionality until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, restrict the handling of Gerber files from untrusted sources to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
