Description
The issue allows for XSS, where a threat actor could have a username containing a JavaScript payload. This payload gets executed in the browser of the victim in the "Share room access" dialog if the victim has shared access to the particular room with the attacker previously.
Recommendations
For BigBlueButton Greenlight version 2.11.1, consider restricting the use of special characters in usernames to minimize the risk of exploitation. As a temporary workaround, avoid using the "Share room access" dialog until a patch is available. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
