CVE-2022-0114

CVSS v2.0

8.8

High

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:C/I:N/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Google Chrome versions prior to 97.0.4692.71
Description The issue is related to an out of bounds memory access in the Blink Serial API of Google Chrome, which can be exploited by a remote attacker using a specially crafted HTML page and virtual serial port driver. This can lead to a denial of service.
Recommendations For versions prior to 97.0.4692.71, update to version 97.0.4692.71 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the Blink Serial API until a patch is applied. Avoid using crafted HTML pages that could trigger the out of bounds memory read via the virtual serial port driver.
