Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
KOYO Screen Creator version 0.1.1.1
Description
This issue allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations. User interaction is required, where the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The flaw exists within the parsing of SCA2 files due to the lack of proper validation of the length of user-supplied data prior to copying it to a fixed-length stack-based buffer. An attacker can leverage this to execute code in the context of the current process.
Recommendations
For KOYO Screen Creator version 0.1.1.1, as a temporary workaround, consider restricting the parsing of SCA2 files until a patch is available. Avoid opening malicious files or visiting malicious pages to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
