Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Bentley MicroStation version 10.16.02.034 CONNECT
Description
This issue allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations. User interaction is required, where the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The flaw exists within the parsing of JP2 images, where crafted data in a JP2 file can trigger a write past the end of an allocated buffer, allowing an attacker to execute code in the context of the current process.
Recommendations
For Bentley MicroStation version 10.16.02.034 CONNECT, consider restricting the use of JP2 file parsing until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, avoid opening malicious files or visiting untrusted websites that could exploit this issue. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
