Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Bentley MicroStation CONNECT version 10.16.02.034
Description
This issue allows remote attackers to disclose sensitive information on affected installations. User interaction is required, where the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The flaw exists within the parsing of 3DS files, where crafted data can trigger a read past the end of an allocated buffer. An attacker can leverage this, in conjunction with other issues, to execute arbitrary code in the context of the current process.
Recommendations
For version 10.16.02.034, consider disabling the parsing of 3DS files until a patch is available to prevent exploitation. Restrict access to potentially malicious files and websites to minimize the risk of sensitive information disclosure.
