Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Bentley View version 10.16.02.022
Description
This issue allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations. User interaction is required, where the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The flaw exists within the parsing of
3DM files due to the lack of proper initialization of memory prior to accessing it. An attacker can leverage this to execute code in the context of the current process.Recommendations
For Bentley View version 10.16.02.022, as a temporary workaround, consider disabling the parsing of
3DM files until a patch is available. Restrict access to files that could be used to exploit this issue to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability. Found an issue in the description? Have something to add? Feel free to write us 👾
