CVE-2021-4120

CVSS v3.1

8.2

High

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions snapd versions 2.54.2
Description The issue is related to insufficient validation of input data in the snapd utility, which can allow an attacker to elevate privileges in the system and execute arbitrary code by injecting arbitrary AppArmor policy rules via malformed content interface and layout declarations. This can lead to escaping strict snap confinement.
Recommendations For snapd version 2.54.2, update to version 2.54.3+18.04, 2.54.3+20.04, or 2.54.3+21.10.1 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the use of the snap content interface and layout declarations to minimize the risk of exploitation.
