CVSS v3.1

| Vector | AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
TensorFlow versions prior to 2.9.0
TensorFlow versions prior to 2.8.1
TensorFlow versions prior to 2.7.2
TensorFlow versions prior to 2.6.4
Description
There is a potential for segfault / denial of service in TensorFlow by calling
tf.compat.v1.* ops which don't yet have support for quantized types, which was added after migration to TensorFlow 2.x. In these scenarios, since the kernel is missing, a nullptr value is passed to ParseDimensionValue for the py value argument. Then, this is dereferenced, resulting in segfault.Recommendations
For versions prior to 2.9.0, update to version 2.9.0 or later.
For versions prior to 2.8.1, update to version 2.8.1 or later.
For versions prior to 2.7.2, update to version 2.7.2 or later.
For versions prior to 2.6.4, update to version 2.6.4 or later.
As a temporary workaround, consider avoiding the use of
tf.compat.v1.* ops that don't yet have support for quantized types until a patch is available.Exploit
