Description
The issue is related to Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation, also known as Cross-site Scripting (XSS). This allows for Stored XSS attacks. The vulnerability can be exploited through the
&ycd-circle-countdown-before-countdown and &ycd-circle-countdown-after-countdown parameters. The issue affects authenticated users with admin+ privileges.Recommendations
For versions through 2.3.2, update to a version later than 2.3.2 to resolve the issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the countdown-builder feature until a patch is available.
Avoid using the
&ycd-circle-countdown-before-countdown and &ycd-circle-countdown-after-countdown parameters in the affected plugin until the issue is resolved.Fix
