Description The issue is related to a use after free vulnerability in the New Tab Page of Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge browsers. This vulnerability can be exploited by an attacker who convinces a user to install a malicious extension, potentially leading to heap corruption via specific user interactions. Alternatively, exploitation can occur through a specially crafted malicious web page, allowing a remote attacker to gain unauthorized access to protected information.
Recommendations For Google Chrome versions prior to 99.0.4844.74, update to version 99.0.4844.74 or later to resolve the issue. For Microsoft Edge, at the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
