CVE-2022-3240
CVSS v3.1
8.8
High
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Follow Me Plugin versions up to, and including, 3.1.1
Description
The issue is due to missing nonce validation on the
FollowMeIgniteSocialMedia options page() function, making it possible for unauthenticated attackers to modify the plugin's settings and inject malicious JavaScript via a forged request. This can be achieved if an attacker can trick a site administrator into performing an action such as clicking on a link.Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 3.1.1, update to a version that includes nonce validation for the
FollowMeIgniteSocialMedia options page() function to prevent Cross-Site Request Forgery attacks.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the FollowMeIgniteSocialMedia options page() function until a patch is available.Exploit
