Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Oracle WebLogic Server versions 12.2.1.4.0 through 14.1.1.0.0
Description
A vulnerability in the Oracle WebLogic Server product exists due to insufficient input validation in the Samples component. This easily exploitable issue allows an unauthenticated attacker with network access via HTTP to compromise Oracle WebLogic Server. Successful attacks require human interaction from a person other than the attacker and may significantly impact additional products. The vulnerability can result in unauthorized update, insert, or delete access to some of Oracle WebLogic Server's accessible data, as well as unauthorized read access to a subset of Oracle WebLogic Server's accessible data.
Recommendations
For versions 12.2.1.4.0 and 14.1.1.0.0, update to a version that includes the fix for this vulnerability.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the Samples component until a patch is available.
Avoid using HTTP requests to access sensitive data in Oracle WebLogic Server until the issue is resolved.
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
