The issue is related to an improper neutralization of special elements used in an OS Command, also known as 'OS Command Injection', in the SSH login components. This may allow an unauthenticated remote attacker to execute arbitrary commands in the underlying shell.
Recommendations
For FortiTester versions 2.3.0 through 3.9.1, update to a version outside of this range to mitigate the risk.
For FortiTester versions 4.0.0 through 4.2.0, update to a version outside of this range to mitigate the risk.
For FortiTester versions 7.0.0 through 7.1.0, update to a version outside of this range to mitigate the risk.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the SSH login components until a patch is available.
Fix
