Description
The issue is related to an improper neutralization of special elements used in an SQL command, also known as 'sql injection', which allows an attacker to execute unauthorized code or commands via crafted HTTP requests to the AP monitor handlers. This can be exploited by a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code.
Recommendations
For Fortinet FortiWLM versions 8.6.2 and below, consider disabling the AP monitor handlers until a patch is available.
For Fortinet FortiWLM versions 8.5.2 and below, restrict access to the AP monitor handlers to minimize the risk of exploitation.
For Fortinet FortiWLM versions 8.4.2 and below, avoid using the vulnerable SQL commands in the AP monitor handlers until the issue is resolved.
For Fortinet FortiWLM versions 8.3.2 and below, as a temporary workaround, consider restricting the use of the AP monitor handlers until a patch is available.
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
