CVE-2021-44700

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Adobe Illustrator versions 25.4.2 and earlier Adobe Illustrator versions 26.0.1 and earlier
Description The issue is related to an out-of-bounds read that could lead to disclosure of sensitive memory. An attacker could leverage this to bypass mitigations such as ASLR. Exploitation requires user interaction, where a victim must open a malicious file. This could potentially allow an attacker to elevate privileges using a specially crafted file.
Recommendations For Adobe Illustrator versions 25.4.2 and earlier, update to a version later than 25.4.2 to resolve the issue. For Adobe Illustrator versions 26.0.1 and earlier, update to a version later than 26.0.1 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider avoiding the use of untrusted JPEG files in Adobe Illustrator until a patch is available.
