CVE-2022-21435

CVSS v2.0

6.8

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:S/C:N/I:N/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions MySQL Server versions 8.0.28 and prior
Description A vulnerability in the MySQL Server product allows a highly privileged attacker with network access via multiple protocols to compromise the server. The issue is due to insufficient input validation in the Server: Optimizer component. Successful attacks can result in unauthorized ability to cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash of MySQL Server, leading to a denial-of-service (DOS) condition.
Recommendations For versions 8.0.28 and prior, update to a version that includes the fix for this issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting network access to the MySQL Server to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the vulnerable Server: Optimizer component until the issue is resolved.
