CVSS v3.1

7.8

High

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Ansys SpaceClaim version 2022 R1
Description This issue allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations. User interaction is required, where the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The flaw exists within the parsing of X B files due to the lack of validating the existence of an object prior to performing operations on it. An attacker can leverage this to execute code in the context of the current process.
Recommendations For Ansys SpaceClaim version 2022 R1, update to a version that addresses the issue with parsing X B files, specifically ensuring that the existence of an object is validated before performing operations on it. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the opening of X B files from untrusted sources to minimize the risk of exploitation.
