Description A vulnerability has been identified in the affected application, which contains an out of bounds write past the end of an allocated structure while parsing specially crafted NEU files. This could allow an attacker to execute code in the context of the current process. The issue is caused by a buffer overflow in dynamic memory.

Recommendations For Simcenter Femap V2020.2, consider disabling the NEU file parsing functionality until a patch is available. For Simcenter Femap V2021.1, consider disabling the NEU file parsing functionality until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, avoid using the affected application to parse specially crafted NEU files until the issue is resolved.
