CVE-2022-4212

CVSS v3.1

6.1

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Chained Quiz plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 1.3.2
Description The issue is related to Reflected Cross-Site Scripting due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This allows unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages via the ipf parameter on the "chainedquiz list" page, which can execute if a user is tricked into performing a specific action, such as clicking on a link.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 1.3.2, update to a version that addresses the insufficient input sanitization and output escaping issue to prevent Reflected Cross-Site Scripting attacks. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the "chainedquiz list" page and avoiding the use of the ipf parameter until a patch is available.
