CVE-2022-42508

CVSS v3.1

6.7

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:H/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Android kernel
Description The issue is related to a possible out of bounds write due to a missing bounds check in ProtocolCallBuilder::BuildSendUssd of protocolcallbuilder.cpp. This could lead to local escalation of privilege with System execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation.
Recommendations For Android kernel, consider applying a patch that includes a bounds check in the ProtocolCallBuilder::BuildSendUssd function to prevent out of bounds writes. As a temporary workaround, restrict access to the BuildSendUssd function to minimize the risk of exploitation.

Fix
