CVE-2022-1679

CVSS v3.1

7.8

High

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A use-after-free flaw was found in the Linux kernel’s Atheros wireless adapter driver. This issue arises when a user forces the ath9k htc wait for target function to fail with some input messages, allowing a local user to crash or potentially escalate their privileges on the system. The flaw is related to an error in the way the driver handles certain input messages, which can lead to unauthorized access to kernel memory, resulting in a system crash or leakage of internal kernel information.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
