Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux Kernel versions prior to v5.16.19
Description A memory leak was caused by the pgd free() function in the pgalloc component. The issue was introduced in version v5.9 and is fixed in version v5.16.19. The actual impact and attack plausibility have not yet been proven.
Recommendations For versions prior to v5.16.19, update to version v5.16.19 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the pgd free() function until a patch is available.
