CVE-2022-21460

CVSS v2.0

4.9

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:H/Au:S/C:C/I:N/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions MySQL Server versions 5.7.37 and prior MySQL Server versions 8.0.28 and prior
Description The issue is related to insufficient input validation in the Server: Logging component of MySQL Server, allowing a high-privileged attacker with network access via multiple protocols to compromise the server. Successful attacks can result in unauthorized access to critical data or complete access to all MySQL Server accessible data.
Recommendations For MySQL Server versions 5.7.37 and prior, update to a version later than 5.7.37 to resolve the issue. For MySQL Server versions 8.0.28 and prior, update to a version later than 8.0.28 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting network access to the MySQL Server to minimize the risk of exploitation.
