Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux Kernel versions prior to v5.10.134
Description
The issue is related to a NULL pointer dereference in the bcm2835 spi handle err() function for non-DMA transfers. This problem was introduced in version v5.4 and is fixed in Linux Kernel version v5.10.134. The actual impact and attack plausibility have not yet been proven.
Recommendations
For Linux Kernel versions prior to v5.10.134, update to version v5.10.134 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the non-DMA transfer functionality in the bcm2835 spi handle err() function until a patch is available.
