CVE-2022-23719

CVSS v3.1

7.2

High

VectorAV:L/AC:H/PR:H/UI:R/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions PingID Windows Login versions prior to 2.8
Description The issue is related to errors in authentication of the connection with a local Java service used to capture security key requests. An attacker with the ability to execute code on the target machine may be able to exploit and spoof the local Java service using multiple attack vectors. A successful attack can lead to code being executed as SYSTEM by the PingID Windows Login application, or even a denial of service for offline security key authentication.
Recommendations For versions prior to 2.8, update to version 2.8 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the local Java service used by PingID Windows Login to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the vulnerable communication channel with the local Java service until the issue is resolved.
