Description The issue is related to a buffer overflow in the Item subselect::init expr cache tracker function of the MariaDB database management system. This can be exploited by a remote attacker to impact the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of protected information. The vulnerability is caused by a segmentation fault via the Item subselect::init expr cache tracker component.
Recommendations For MariaDB versions v10.2 through v10.6.1, consider disabling the Item subselect::init expr cache tracker function until a patch is available to prevent exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
