Description
The issue is related to a buffer overflow in the Item field::fix outer field function of the MariaDB database management system. This could allow a remote attacker to impact the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of protected information. The vulnerability is caused by a segmentation fault via the Item field::fix outer field component.
Recommendations
For MariaDB versions 10.4 through 10.8, consider disabling the
Item field::fix outer field function as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to the affected component to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.Exploit
