CVE-2022-21556

CVSS v2.0

9.4

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Oracle MySQL Server versions 8.0.28 and prior
Description The issue is related to the Server: Optimizer component of Oracle MySQL Server and is caused by inadequate access control. It allows a high-privileged attacker with network access via multiple protocols to compromise the MySQL Server. Successful attacks can result in unauthorized creation, deletion, or modification access to critical data or all MySQL Server accessible data, as well as the ability to cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash (complete DOS) of the MySQL Server.
Recommendations For versions 8.0.28 and prior, update to a version later than 8.0.28 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting network access to the MySQL Server to minimize the risk of exploitation. Restrict access to sensitive data and implement additional monitoring to detect potential attacks. At the moment, there is no information about other workarounds for this vulnerability.
