Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Cisco Small Business RV110W, RV130, RV130W, and RV215W Routers (affected versions not specified)
Description
The issue is due to insufficient validation of user fields within incoming HTTP packets in the web-based management interface. An attacker could exploit this by sending a crafted request to the web-based management interface, potentially allowing them to execute arbitrary commands on an affected device with root-level privileges or cause the device to restart unexpectedly, resulting in a denial of service (DoS) condition. To exploit this, an attacker would need to have valid Administrator credentials on the affected device. The vulnerability is also described as a buffer overflow in memory, which could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code using a specially formed HTTP packet.
Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
