Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Jenkins Google Cloud Backup Plugin versions 0.6 and earlier
Description
A cross-site request forgery (CSRF) vulnerability allows attackers to request a manual backup. This issue is related to the lack of a permission check in an HTTP endpoint, which also does not require POST requests, resulting in the CSRF vulnerability. The exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to copy arbitrary files.
Recommendations
For Jenkins Google Cloud Backup Plugin versions 0.6 and earlier, consider disabling the plugin until a patch is available to prevent attackers from requesting manual backups. Restrict access to the affected HTTP endpoint to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the affected plugin for sensitive operations until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
