Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
lib9p (affected versions not specified)
Description
The issue is related to the handling of RWALK messages in lib9p, where a missing bounds check allows a specially crafted message to cause lib9p to overwrite unrelated memory. This could potentially lead to user-mode code execution on the host, subject to bhyve's Capsicum sandbox. The bug can be triggered by a malicious bhyve guest kernel.
