CVE-2022-2616

CVSS v2.0

9.4

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:C/I:N/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Google Chrome versions prior to 104.0.5112.79
Description The issue is related to an inappropriate implementation in the Extensions API of Google Chrome, which could allow a remote attacker to disclose protected information or cause a denial of service by convincing a user to install a malicious extension. This malicious extension could spoof the contents of the Omnibox (URL bar) via a crafted Chrome Extension.
Recommendations For Google Chrome versions prior to 104.0.5112.79, update to version 104.0.5112.79 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the installation of extensions to only trusted sources until the update is applied.
