CVE-2022-22844

CVSS v2.0

7.1

High

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions LibTIFF version 4.3.0
Description The issue is related to an out-of-bounds read in the TIFFmemcpy function in tif unix.c, which can occur under certain conditions involving a custom tag and 0x0200 as the second word of the DE field. This can potentially allow a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.
Recommendations For LibTIFF version 4.3.0, consider disabling the TIFFmemcpy function in tif unix.c as a temporary workaround to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
