Description An information disclosure issue exists due to the getReadReceipts Meteor server method not properly filtering user inputs passed to MongoDB queries. This allows $regex queries to enumerate arbitrary Message IDs, potentially disclosing protected information.

Recommendations For versions prior to 5, update to version 5 or later to resolve the issue. For versions prior to 4.8.2, update to version 4.8.2 or later to resolve the issue. For versions prior to 4.7.5, update to version 4.7.5 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the getReadReceipts Meteor server method until a patch is available.
