CVE-2022-43622

CVSS v3.1

8.8

High

VectorAV:A/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions D-Link DIR-1935 version 1.03
Description This issue allows network-adjacent attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations. Authentication is not required to exploit this issue. The specific flaw exists within the handling of Login requests to the web management portal. When parsing the HNAP AUTH header, the process does not properly validate the length of user-supplied data prior to copying it to a fixed-length stack-based buffer. An attacker can leverage this issue to execute code in the context of root.
Recommendations As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the handling of HNAP AUTH headers in the web management portal until a patch is available. Restrict access to the web management portal to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the HNAP AUTH header in the affected API endpoint until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.
