Description
The issue is related to a buffer overflow error in the httpd daemon of the NETGEAR R7000P router's software. This error occurs via the
wan dns1 pri parameter in the /usr/sbin/httpd endpoint. Exploitation of this issue may allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code.Recommendations
For Netgear R7000P version 1.3.1.64, consider disabling the
wan dns1 pri parameter in the /usr/sbin/httpd endpoint until a patch is available. Restrict access to the /usr/sbin/httpd endpoint to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.Exploit
