Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Netgear R7000P version 1.3.1.64
Description
The issue is related to buffer overflow errors in the httpd daemon of the NETGEAR R7000P router's embedded software. These errors occur through the
starthour, startminute, endhour, and endminute parameters. Exploitation of this issue may allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code.Recommendations
For version 1.3.1.64, as a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the
/usr/sbin/httpd endpoint to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the parameters starthour, startminute, endhour, and endminute in the affected API endpoint until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.Exploit
