CVE-2022-43624

CVSS v2.0

7.7

High

VectorAV:A/AC:L/Au:S/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions D-Link DIR-1935 version 1.03
Description This issue allows network-adjacent attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations. Although authentication is required to exploit this issue, the existing authentication mechanism can be bypassed. The specific flaw exists within the handling of SetStaticRouteIPv6Settings requests to the web management portal. When parsing subelements within the StaticRouteIPv6List element, the process does not properly validate a user-supplied string before using it to execute a system call. An attacker can leverage this issue to execute code in the context of root.
Recommendations For D-Link DIR-1935 version 1.03, as a temporary workaround, consider disabling the SetStaticRouteIPv6Settings function until a patch is available. Restrict access to the web management portal to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the StaticRouteIPv6List element in the affected API endpoint until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.
