Description
The issue is related to an improper neutralization of special elements used in an OS command, which may allow an authenticated attacker to execute unauthorized commands via specifically crafted arguments to existing commands. This could potentially enable an attacker to perform arbitrary command execution.
Recommendations
For FortiTester versions 3.0.0 through 3.9.1, update to a version outside of this range to mitigate the risk.
For FortiTester versions 4.0.0 through 4.2.0, update to a version outside of this range to mitigate the risk.
For FortiTester versions 7.0.0 through 7.1.0, update to a version outside of this range to mitigate the risk.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the command line interpreter to minimize the risk of exploitation.
