Description The issue is related to a use-after-free flaw in the reconn set ipaddr from hostname function in fs/cifs/connect.c of the Linux kernel. This flaw occurs when the function forgets to set the free pointer server->hostname to NULL, leading to an invalid pointer request. The exploitation of this issue may allow an attacker to cause a denial of service.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
