CVE-2022-2120

CVSS v2.0

10

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions DCMTK versions prior to 3.6.7
Description The issue is related to a relative path traversal vulnerability in the service class user (SCU) of DCMTK, which allows an attacker to write DICOM files into arbitrary directories under controlled names. This could potentially lead to remote code execution. The vulnerability is also associated with insufficient restrictions on directory path names, enabling a remote attacker to access confidential data, compromise its integrity, and cause a denial of service.
Recommendations For versions prior to 3.6.7, update to version 3.6.7 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the SCU service to minimize the risk of exploitation.
