CVSS v3.1

5.9

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions OpenImageIO version 2.4.4.2
Description The issue is related to a component of the OpenImageIO library, specifically the IFFOutput channel interleaving functionality, which is vulnerable to a buffer data reading beyond valid boundaries. This can be exploited by a remote attacker using a specially crafted file to gain access to confidential data. The vulnerability can lead to leaked heap data when a maliciously crafted ImageOutput Object is used.
Recommendations For OpenImageIO version 2.4.4.2, consider restricting the use of the IFFOutput channel interleaving functionality until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, avoid using specially crafted ImageOutput Objects that can trigger the vulnerability. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
