VectorAV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions OpenImageIO version 2.4.4.2
Description A denial of service issue exists in the ZfileOutput::close() functionality of OpenImageIO. This can be triggered by a specially crafted ImageOutput Object, allowing an attacker to cause a denial of service by providing a malicious file. The vulnerability is related to pointer dereference errors and can be exploited remotely.
Recommendations For OpenImageIO version 2.4.4.2, consider disabling the ZfileOutput::close() functionality as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to the ZfileOutput component to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using specially crafted ImageOutput Objects that can trigger this issue.
