CVE-2022-2571

CVSS v3.1

7.8

High

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Vim versions prior to 9.0.0101
Description The issue is related to a heap-based buffer overflow in the vim iswordp buf function of the Vim text editor. This allows an attacker to access confidential data, compromise its integrity, and potentially cause a denial of service using a specially crafted file.
Recommendations For versions prior to 9.0.0101, update to version 9.0.0101 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the use of the vim iswordp buf function until a patch is available.
