CVE-2022-36359

CVSS v2.0

10

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Django versions 3.2 through 3.2.14 Django versions 4.0 through 4.0.6
Description An issue was discovered in the HTTP FileResponse class. The application is vulnerable to a reflected file download (RFD) attack that sets the Content-Disposition header of a FileResponse when the filename is derived from user-supplied input. This could allow a remote attacker to access confidential data, compromise its integrity, and cause a denial of service.
Recommendations For Django versions 3.2 through 3.2.14, update to version 3.2.15 or later. For Django versions 4.0 through 4.0.6, update to version 4.0.7 or later. As a temporary workaround, consider validating and sanitizing user-supplied input for filenames to prevent reflected file download attacks.
